COURT OF TWO SISTERS

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to design for such a celebrated landmark in our city of New Orleans.  Everyone knows the iconic signage on Royal Street or the lushly landscaped courtyard with fountain that is The Court of Two Sisters in the French Quarter.  What you may have missed is the Royal Court, or Royal Street facing dining room.  The main dining room was resting on her laurels and in need of a face lift.  We started by “addition by subtraction” removing the elements that detracted from the history.  Leaning into her historic past, we built out the space to celebrate the arched walk thru windows and details that go back to the early 1800’s.

The herringbone wood flooring, mirrored wainscotting, and sconce lighting adds character and companions the existing chandeliers.  With the old heavy drapery down the room breathes in new life for this classic creole queen.
